Do you hate your job? That can change!
Do you hate your job?
Maybe what makes it even harder is feeling you have no choice. You need the money. There's a mortgage to pay. And you tell yourself you should be grateful for what you have.
People around you say: "But the money is so good!" or "Think of the holidays you can afford."
Yet something inside you says this isn't the life you want.
You consider a change, but every possibility comes with another obstacle. Then the washing machine breaks, and you're grateful you can replace it. Or you see a friend following their dream but struggling to pay the bills, and think: "Maybe I'm better off staying where I am."
And still, you dread going to work.
A golden cage. Does any of this feel familiar?
What do you do with the feelings that come up?
Maybe you pour yourself a drink, work longer hours, turn to sex or drugs, or keep yourself so busy there's no time to feel anything.
For a while, there's relief. But when things go quiet, those feelings return.
Maybe turning away from them was something you learned long ago, when they felt too overwhelming.
Keeping yourself busy, pushing through, holding everything together… it can be exhausting. It takes so much energy. The more you fight that uncomfortable feeling, the more painful it can seem.
If you stay with what you feel, the feeling can ease and give way to calm. You may begin to feel freer and see solutions and possibilities you couldn't see before.
What if thinking about going to work no longer brought up that same dread, frustration or helplessness?
Not sure how?
I can help. :-)
