Does rejection hurt?
You're drawn to a man you like. He enjoys being with you, but he doesn't want a relationship. And you hope that once he sees how wonderful you are and what you could share, he'll change his mind.
So you keep trying. Even though it hurts.
Does this feel familiar? I lived this way for a very long time.
Then I realised how familiar that feeling was from childhood. I brought home top marks and longed for my parents' attention. I wanted to feel that I mattered to them. When I didn't feel it, I assumed I wasn't good enough.
But that hurt too much. So I tried even harder. Maybe next time they would notice me.
Years later, I found myself waiting in much the same way for men who didn't want a relationship with me. As though their interest could finally confirm that I was enough.
Could part of the pain have come from what I believed their rejection said about me?
This is where we can begin exploring together in a BeTrue session. With a situation that hurts and whatever it brings up in you. I can guide you to bring your attention to your body and make space for the feelings that are there. At your own pace, including any reluctance to feel them.
Would you like to explore something you're going through this way? Send me a message. ❤️
When someone rejects you, what does it mean to you about yourself?
